This artwork was inspired by a moment that lingered long after I first encountered it—a photograph of rams standing confidently amidst vast mountain landscapes. There was a quiet majesty in their presence, a sense of calm strength that felt both powerful and deeply grounded.
What drew me most was their silent authority—standing fearless against the immensity of nature, yet completely in harmony with it. In that moment, there was a story of resilience, belonging, and quiet endurance.
Using oil pastels, I set out to capture not just the visual scene, but the emotion within it. Each stroke was layered to bring out the texture of the terrain and the strength of the rams, while preserving the stillness that defines the composition.
Mountain Goats is a reflection of nature’s quiet power—steady, resilient, and deeply rooted—inviting the viewer to pause and connect with that sense of strength and balance.
