One crisp autumn morning in Bengaluru, I came across an image that instantly stayed with me—a mother Northern Saw-whet owl perched gently above her five fluffy nestlings, nestled within a mossy nook surrounded by soft ferns. Their wide, luminous eyes reflected pure curiosity, innocence, and an unbreakable bond of protection and belonging.
That quiet yet powerful moment inspired this artwork. Back in my studio, I turned to oil pastels on textured paper mounted on a wooden board, allowing each stroke to bring the scene to life. Earthy browns shaped the softness of feathers, while rich greens captured the calm embrace of nature around them.
With every layer, I sought to express more than just a visual—it became a reflection of maternal love in its purest form: gentle, watchful, and deeply protective.
